IQIPS – Your Guarantee Of Excellence In Hearing Healthcare

Providing confidence for our patients and GPs

Jason Walker, IQIPS consultant at Hearbase, explains more.

The word ‘expert’ is over-used these days. Everyone seems be an expert at something, so much so that it is often hard to determine who the ‘experts’ really are. This is why professional accreditations and qualifications have become a vital tool for patients and healthcare practitioners. They help to distinguish the better quality providers from the rest.

Hearbase has been working with the NHS for many years. In November 2018 it decided to embark on achieving a special standard of practice for hearing services called Improving Quality in Physiological Services, or IQIPS for short.

IQIPS – what does that mean to you?

Your guarantee of excellence in hearing healthcare

The IQIPS standard is rigorously accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).  We had to display a level of standards, safety and quality that set us apart from many other audiology providers, including some of the larger retailers on the high street, many times our size.

After many months of hard work and dedication across our clinical and operations teams, we were thrilled when Hearbase achieved IQIPS status in July 2019. This was a recognition of our commitment to clinical quality in audiology, demonstrating our focus on patient care to patients and professional partners. But what does it mean to you, our patients?

Top quality services

It means reassurance. It means you are seeing the best. Improving the standard of patient care is the whole purpose of IQIPS. With Hearbase’s new certification you will receive consistently high quality services, tests, examinations and procedures, by competent staff working in safe environments who will always:

  • Display in-depth knowledge of audiology and care at all times
  • Follow best practices and never compromise on your safety and preferences
  • Explain things clearly and competently to the highest level of professionalism
  • Continue their training and learn to support you in new ways
  • Use the latest technology and equipment to maximise successful treatment
